  • Ensure NAFTA renegotiations embody significant trade policy reform
  • Engage state legislators on opposing Investor-State Dispute Settlement provisions
  • Develop and release a community-wide Fair Trade Vision Statement
  • Make Congressional candidates views on trade known to their constituents
  • Guide coalition partners through turbulent trade actions at the federal level
  • Establish a coherent alternative to the current Administration’s trade agenda that works for workers, communities and the planet

Cross-Border Education & Action

  • Launched TPPxBorder, involving activists across the US, Canada, Mexico
  • Workshop at the Council of Canadians Annual Meeting
  • Organized Briefing with Celeste Drake (AFL-CIO) & Lynne Dodson (WSLC) at the
    BC Labour Federations Annual Meeting where they passed a TPP Resolution
  • Developed TPPxBorder website, Facebook & twitter
  • Dec. 1st TPP People’s Summit and Action with 300 labor, environmental,
    social justice activists at the Peace Arch

US & WA State Education & Action

  • Week of action with Celeste Drake AFL-CIO
  • Briefing in Olympia with WFSE
  • Trade Justice Happy Hour
  • Radio & Print Media around December 1st Action
  • Hosted Labor Leader’s Roundtable w/ AFL-CIO’s Liz Shuler
  • Co-organized w/SPEEA TPP Round table with Deputy USTR Demetrios

  • Action: Who’s At the TPP Table-Calling Out Corporations in Seattle
    which was presented at the San Diego Round
  • Worked with ILWU/ITF to pass a west coast TPP resolution

Congressional & Legislative Efforts

  • Rep Larsen signed on to a joint Congressional letter to USTR calling for
    transparency and authentic stakeholder involvement
  • Worked with Reps Smith & McDermott to draft an individual letter to
    USTR also calling for transparency and stake holder involvement
  • Legislators Sign-On letter with Maralyn Chase
  • Briefing to WA Joint Legislative Committee on Trade

SweatFree WA Campaign

  • Ran a strong SweatFree Procurement State campaign, identified champions
    in the House and Senate and allies in Dept. of Enterprise Services, successfully
    moved the statute through the House and only lost by 1 vote in the Senate.
  • Partnered with the Seattle Human Rights Commission to enforce
    the Seattle SweatFree Policy

Solidarity Work

  • Making Change at Wal-Mart-in solidarity with Our Wal-Mart took part in
    actions on Black Friday, week before Black Friday, Red Apple Promenade
    and was a lead on an action in Bellevue
