SUPPORT the TRADE ACT
Today!
The TRADE Act has
received near unanimous support from labor unions as well as environmental and
family farm organizations, including AFL-CIO, Change to Win,
the Sierra Club, and the National Family Farmer's Union. The bill has
received far reaching support in Congress with 135 representatives
co-sponsoring the TRADE Act. However none are from Washington State.
2010 is the time to get
Washington State Representatives in Congress who are working on healthcare
reform, climate legislation and international development to make the link
between those issues and trade. Hard fought policies can be challenged as
barriers to trade and then the best legislation is again at the feet of
corporate interests. The WFTC has invited and encouraged Rep Jim McDermott
and Rep Jay Inslee to co-sponsor the TRADE Act HR 3210. In 2010, we need
to be clear about the consequences for not supporting the TRADE Act. We need
everyone to be involved in the TRADE Act Campaign in 2010.
Start the year off by
making a call and telling your Representative to support the TRADE Act
because it is good for WA State workers and workers everywhere and protects our
limited natural resources from exploitation.
